If one ever wonders what a single blossom contributes to the insect world, look at this series of pictures. It is essentially one view chopped up into smaller sections so that those users who are on slow connections can see each area of the flower and all the critters who are feasting without waiting for the large picture to load.

As we walked outside I heard the chirping of hummingbirds embroiled in a fight over territory.  Thankfully David had his camera and started snapping pics.  There was no clear winner in the battle as a storm moved in and broke things up.  There was a smaller feeder two feet away from the one shown in this series.  I moved it to a shepherd's hook several hundred feet away so each hummingbord could have their own space.
